Abersoch Bay hosts waterskiing and wakeboarding. It is the sheltered, beginner-friendly end of this coast, and a motor boat exclusion zone on the bay keeps bathers safe.
In the village, OFFAXIS sells and hires wakeboarding and waterski kit — wakeboards, waterskis and kneeboards for sale, and wakeboards, handle and line to hire. OFFAXIS offers wakeboard lessons from its boating base at Harbourside, North Quay, Pwllheli, which is focused on wakeboards and waterskis and is the base for Nautique boats.
From 2000 to 2014 Abersoch hosted Wakestock. It began as a wakeboard contest with a car-park party for 800 people and grew into Europe's largest wakeboard music festival. Its main site was Penrhos, with the wakeboard competition at Pwllheli marina and the Big Air Classic in Abersoch Bay.

OFFAXIS's shop at Harbourside, North Quay, Pwllheli, is its boating base: wakeboards, waterskis and the base for Nautique boats as the Authorised Welsh dealer. OFFAXIS offers wakeboard lessons, and its Johnny Robinson is a BWS Wakeboard & Water Ski instructor and BWS Instructor Trainer.
OFFAXIS also has its first shop in the village at Glanafon Garage in Abersoch, which is where its wakeboarding and waterski sales and hire sit.
Glasfryn Parc, at Y Ffôr near Pwllheli, runs a cable wake park — 15.8 km (9.8 miles) from Abersoch. Its wakeboarding suits everyone from beginners upward, and comes with tuition.
