A sailing village on the Llŷn
Abersoch is a village built around its harbour and the water. The South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club sails from the Headland, and the golf course was designed by Harry Vardon. Round the coast, Hell's Mouth draws surfers to its beach, and the coast path follows the cliffs towards Llanbedrog. Whatever brings you here, it's the Llŷn that brings you back.

On the Water
A sheltered bay, open surf and boat trips
Abersoch Bay is sheltered from the open sea, and a motor boat exclusion zone keeps it clear for sailing, paddleboarding and windsurfing. It's a good place for beginners to find their feet, and from late July the regatta, running since 1888, and the yacht club's open weeks fill the bay with dinghies.
West of the village, Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth) is known for picking up more surf than anywhere else in North Wales. The long, south-west facing beach is where most surf lessons run, and kitesurfers make the most of it when the wind picks up. When the wind blows it out, surfers head south to Porth Ceiriad, which is sheltered from the prevailing winds and is often the only spot still working.
From the bay, RIB trips run out past St Tudwal's Islands, with a chance of spotting dolphins and porpoises along the way.
